Project Steps:

1. Demolition and Preparation:

The old door frame was carefully removed, and the surrounding area was cleaned and prepped for construction.

Any damaged drywall or framing was repaired or replaced to ensure structural integrity.

2. Framework Installation:

A solid framework was installed to fill the doorway, ensuring the new wall would seamlessly align with the existing walls.

3. Drywall and Finishing:

New drywall was installed over the framework, blending perfectly with the surrounding surfaces.

Joint compound was applied, sanded down, and smoothed to achieve a flawless finish.

4. Painting and Baseboards:

The area was primed and painted to match the existing wall color.

Baseboards were installed at the bottom to complete the transition and maintain the room’s uniformity.

Benefits of Closing a Doorway:

Improved Layout: Closing up a doorway can make a room more functional by creating additional wall space for furniture or decor.

Aesthetic Cohesion: A seamless wall contributes to a clean, polished look.

Privacy and Soundproofing: Eliminating unnecessary doorways enhances privacy and reduces noise transfer between rooms.

This project demonstrates how small changes can significantly enhance a home’s layout and appearance. If you’re considering a similar transformation, we’re here to help make your vision a reality!
