Project Steps:
1. Demolition and Preparation:
• The old door frame was carefully removed, and the surrounding area was cleaned and prepped for construction.
• Any damaged drywall or framing was repaired or replaced to ensure structural integrity.
2. Framework Installation:
• A solid framework was installed to fill the doorway, ensuring the new wall would seamlessly align with the existing walls.
3. Drywall and Finishing:
• New drywall was installed over the framework, blending perfectly with the surrounding surfaces.
• Joint compound was applied, sanded down, and smoothed to achieve a flawless finish.
4. Painting and Baseboards:
• The area was primed and painted to match the existing wall color.
• Baseboards were installed at the bottom to complete the transition and maintain the room’s uniformity.
Benefits of Closing a Doorway:
• Improved Layout: Closing up a doorway can make a room more functional by creating additional wall space for furniture or decor.
• Aesthetic Cohesion: A seamless wall contributes to a clean, polished look.
